Black History Month Game Show
Black History Month Game Shows!
The Month of February is designated as Black History Month and weβve created a custom edition of Survey Says to celebrate!
A few years ago one of our regular game show college clients asked us if we could create a custom show for them for Black History Month. Our answer was YES WE CAN.
Now three options are available to everyone and WOW they are a great shows!
Our former host, Gus Davis and Bettina Johnson (an African American Studies graduate from the University of Texas in Austin) were up to the task, andΒ they knocked it outta the park!
The goalβ¦ to create a show that was aΒ celebrationΒ ofΒ African American Cultureβ¦ without getting preachy or too dry.Β And thatβs exactly the goalΒ that was accomplished.
Using the format of our most popular show βSurvey Saysβ they created survey questions that would celebrate and explore the rich African American heritage and contributions to our country and at the same time open discussion about the contributions made to America by African Americans.
Survey Questions are similar to these (though they vary from show to show, year to year):
β Name an influential African American woman.
β Other than Barack Obama, name an African American politician.
β Name a civil rights protest method.
and many, many more.
Please consider making this special Black History Month edition of Survey Says, a part of your Black History Month college programming.
We also have black history month game shows in the form of Game Show Medley and Fast Action Trivia.
With only 28 days in February and the popularity of this program, dates fill up quickly and every year we get calls for show dates that are already booked. Avoid that disappointment and Call TODAY or fill out a form for full pricing and availability and to get your date on the calendar today.

Frequently Asked Questions about Fast Action Trivia
About 60-70 people per hour depending on how well any one particular player does.
There is a new round every 4 minutes. 3 minutes for the game and an estimated 1 minute to change players and award prizes.
It can go slightly faster than that if there is a line of people so rules donβt have to be re-explained each round.
- Alcohol and Drug Awareness
- Earth Day
- Black History Month
- Safe Spring Break
- Title IX Sexual Harassment & Discrimination
- Distracted Driving

And we can create a custom show just for YOU and your specific teaching needs!
The short answer is YES.
The longer answer is that we can mix in 20-30 custom questions that rotate throughout the show.
Because of the fast nature of the game, we can blaze through 600-1000 questions in 2 hours! So we canβt write that many questions just for your event for fully customized questions without a significant extra fee.
However – we do have a lot of themes that are ready to go and mix in to your show.
Very simply weβll need:
- an 8Γ12 minimum space
- Outdoor events must be in a covered area and out of direct sunlight.
- Power and a power strip.
- A sound system appropriate for your venue (it helps to have one speaker (a monitor) pointed at the players so they hear the questions clearly).
For all college and school events the show includes prizes of $5 per round, which averages around $200 for a 90 minute to 2-hour period when we include the bonuses for someone who wins 4 rounds.
If your group requires gift cards instead of cash we will ask that you provide the prizes or we will need to add a 20% surcharge to handle Amazon Gift Codes as it’s a labor-intensive process.
We fully participate in coop pricing through APCA and NACA for colleges.
Teaming up with other clients while weβre already in the area gives us some pricing flexibility.
Other than that we have set fair and competitive prices for all of our shows and we stand firmly by our price sheets except for routing.
We schedule Fast Action Trivia for a 90-minute block as the standard time when the audience may be coming and going.
If you are doing a stage show β we recommend about 75 minutes. 90 Minutes is the MAX amount of time that we recommend.
If your event is a βcome and goβ type of event, such as at a festival, in a lobby, or cafeteria, we can arrange for longer times for a minimal additional fee.
We recommend that if itβs going to be more than two hours you schedule a 10-15 minute break for the host β as itβs a LOT of reading of questions β so his voice will need a break.
